Crush - A Short Story for Her

You make me question the claim that it's all just an abstraction, a second-hand emotion. You make me think of Malcolm Gladwell's "Blink" instead of Daniel Kahneman's "Thinking, Fast and Slow".

I worry about what all of this means. Is this another instance of my superficiality? Is there more to an intuition? How can one desire without objectification?

You're a regular part of my life, and yet you're not. As it stands, you and the other regulars that board this train - we're all part of each others mise-en-scene.

It's like that classic rock song: the time is close enough to midnight, and we're not just going "anywhere" but home. This, however, is a projected narrative. I know next to nothing about your motivation and desires; I know nothing about your world (or various worlds).

What I do know is that this beating heart and swooning sigh is indicative of something more . . .
